This memorial is not an attempt to deify my mother. There has only been one perfect person to walk this earth. Mom was the epitomy of “God like Love” for her children, and her concern for the spiritual well being of family, friends, acquaintances was, and I am sure, still is, ceaseless. As a child who experienced an incredibly loving and sacrificial set of parents, I have experienced in very tangible, physical terms of this earth, a love which is as close to Godly love as most likely is possible. Everything which is good about me comes from God and my parents in both heredity and the environment I was exposed to growing up. I cannot express how thankful I am to have had such love and nurturing from a Mom and Dad whose love was totally unconditional.
This memorial is to show to all who read it, that there are in this world, incredibly wonderful people who are not consumed with themselves and their own desires.
This is a picture of Mom taken in 1998. She was still very active in the plumeria nursery at that time. She is holding an Espinda plumeria branch. She would fill pots for rooting trees and most anything else which needed to be done around the nursery. Customers loved to talk to her because her love was so obvious and she always had a story to tell and if they were there long enough, they would hear about her personal savior and his loving ways and his wishes for their life.
Mom and her memory will live in the hearts of all who met her and learned to love her caring ways. I intend to do everything in my power to insure that her name lives on in perpetuity so that others may see the example she set in her undyeing love for her family and friends. Her prayer life was a very powerful thing. So much so, that she has been referred to as a “Prayer Warrior” by a number of her pastors over the years. Mom wasn’t perfect as Jesus was, but she was the best example of his love for family and friends I have ever seen or experienced.
